Where is Manette?

Manette is a small tight-knit community located at the southern end of Manette Peninsula also known as Point Herron. Manette was founded in 1891 and later incorporated into the city of Bremerton.

In its early years, the community of Manette was serviced by the Mosquito Fleet ferry. In 1930 a bridge was built linking Manette to the Bremerton side of the water for $200,000 which was raised by the community. It was later turned into a toll bridge charging .25 cents per vehicle and a nickel for pedestrians.

In 2005 Seattle Magazine named Manette #9 out the 10 top Seattle neighborhoods due to its proximity to Seattle, the Bremerton to Seattle ferry and affordable housing near the water...a lot has changed in Seattle since then but Manette has held true to it's affordability and desirability.

It is still the place to be in Bremerton.
